Where is the 'Project ID' field?
The Project ID field is in the 'Information' tab of the Order Window, as shown in the screenshot below.
The 'Project ID' field behaves differently if made Mandatory as compared to when it is not.
What happens when 'Project ID' is NOT set as 'Mandatory' in 'Employee Defaults'?
The behavior of the 'Project ID' field is as follows:
Can be left blank, if the User so desires.
There is no on-screen prompt that the field is still blank.
Copies the Order ID in itself as the Project ID.
User can Manually Override and pick a Project ID, using the 'Search and Select' method from the Project List window.
What happens when 'Project ID' is set as 'Mandatory' in 'Employee Defaults'?
The behavior of the 'Project ID' field is as follows:
Cannot be left blank, even if the User so desires.
An on-screen prompt notifies you that the field is still blank.
So, you must essentially pick a Project ID, using the 'Search and Select' method from the Project List window.
There is 'No Default Value' such copying from the Order ID.
How it can the 'Project ID' field be Mandatory?
'Project ID' field can be defined as 'Mandatory' in the Account > Orders > General tab of the 'Defaults' window. See Here.
The 'Defaults' window is accessed from the 'Defaults ID' field of the 'Employee Profile' in the Maintenance Module.
To know more about this, refer the 'Employee Defaults' in Maintenance Module.
