  Setting the warranty period

Warranty period can be defined in the 'Item edit' window or from 'Asset edit' window.

 

Setting warranty period in 'Item edit' window

  1. In R2 launch pad, Select Maintenance module.

  2. Click Items tab.

  3. Select New icon or select New from File menu.

  4. Select Serial as Item type.

  5. Enter the Product Id and Description

  6. In the Warranty Period field, enter the value for warranty in months.

  1. If the warranty months is defined for an item, R2 automatically calculates warranty expiry month by adding the warranty months defined to the current month and the warranty expiry date will be defaulted in the 'Warranty Till' field in 'Asset edit' window.

  2. If no value is defined for the warranty period, then warranty period will never expire for the item. Enter value 0 in Warranty period , if the warranty period is not available for the item (Date of receiving items into the inventory will be considered as the Warranty expiry date)

  3. Click OK.

 

Setting warranty period in 'Asset edit' window

  1. Access 'Asset edit' window.

  2. Select the warranty expiry date in the 'Warranty Till' field.

  3. Click OK.

  • Warranty expiry date can also be selected in the  Asset edit window which can be invoked from Maintenance/ Warehouse module

  • If warranty expiry date is defined in the Asset edit window, it will be applied only to the selected asset item.
