Understanding Roles in R2
The R2 Launch Pad is designed as a role-based system, only admitting users of certain roles into their own areas of use.

Access to one or more of the Launch Pad tiles is granted through the employee’s profile using the Security Level.
See below for a comprehensive description of each of R2’s modules and Launch Pad features.
Module | What it does |
Home Site | Otherwise known as the default warehouse. In a multi-site environment, it is possible to grant access to multiple sites thereby allowing orders to be created from any site. Upon setting the default site before creating orders or purchase orders, R2 will behave as though the user were physically in that site and warehouse. |
Language | Languages are presented via a Language drop-down at the bottom of the Launch Pad. The available languages are selected in the Configuration module. The Multi Language editor (F8 function key) allows the definition of each language, including your native and default language. Upon selecting a language, the Launch Pad will immediately reflect the configured language: ![]() The selected language is designed to carry through to all screens a user encounters (must be configured, else the default language is English.) A language can be defaulted to an employee as well as a customer. |
Account | This is the primary module for:
|
Invoicing | The Invoicing module is for processing invoices from R2 into an external accounting package, thereby reducing or eliminating double entry. The Invoicing module is also the exclusive location to create a credit memo or a debit memo. Invoicing packages that R2 integrates with include:
|
Maintenance | The Maintenance module is viewed as a protected area of R2. It allows access to sensitive areas and features including:
Only the highest employee Security Level grants access to Maintenance. |
Warehouse | Warehouse employees access a specialized notification system that allows them to know when it is time to perform tasks such as:
Generally, this area does not provide access to order information aside from the item lists. Pricing, discounts, etc. are not accessible. |
Reports | Access to standard and custom report menus. |
Configuration | This area allows for global changes that have wide reaching impact. It is advised that only your R2 administrators have access to this area, and that changes are discussed with an R2 project manager first. |
My Activity | Tasks created here can be assigned to yourself or another user. These tasks only appear upon logging into R2. Task statuses can also be managed, and new appointments made for future dates. |
Service | Track periodic maintenance, cost-of-ownership, and even invoice customers for services provided using the Service and Repair module. *Requires additional licensing. |
Physical Inventory | Perform periodic or annual physical counts (stock takes) of your warehouse(s.) Physical count batches are created containing as few as one item and as many as an entire warehouse. Multiple warehouse users can access and scan into a single batch from multiple stations. R2 supports manual input, barcode scanning, and loading physical inventory counts from a file. |
Inventory Search | View inventory from the perspective of a category and subcategory. Quick access to inventory related features such as:
Inventory Availability, a crucial part of your sales and operations, are quickly easily seen next to each item. This screen will be the primary search tool used during order entry. |
