commit;

Caution: If the Day/Week/Month Pricing feature is enabled in R2 then, the support for Day/Week/Month Pricing for Orders created before enabling this feature is not currently provided. Please contact R2 Support team for any further queries on the same.

Details of Day/Week/Month Pricing Functionality

Once the Day/Week/Month Pricing functionality is enabled in R2, the pricing and billing of Items will be calculated based the Unit set for the Order line level and the settings defined in Configuration module > Pricing/Billing tab > Pricing by Month option set as 28 Days or Calendar, and Days in Week and Days in Month defined.

Pricing and Billing when Line Level Unit is Blank (not defined)

In an Order, when line level Unit is blank and Item price is defined, the functionality will be as below:

  • System will ignore the DIW and DIM definitions present for the Item.

  • DIW will be 7 days starting from the Order Start Date the next 7 days will be considered as a week.

  • For example, if the Order is created on  June 7, 2014; then one week will be from the Start Date will be June 13, 2014.

  • System will not consider the Fractional charge durations.

The scenario below explains how Order line amount is calculated for each day.

Scenario 1:

  1. Define Pricing for Item [ITEM#1] as below:

  2. Day Price = 10.00

  3. Week Price = 40.00

  4. Month Price = 100.00

  1. Add the Item [ITEM#1] to the Order [ORDER#1].

  2. Set the Unit as blank.

Day Price of 10.00 is applied on day 1.

2

10.00 x 2 = 20.00

3

30.00

10.00 x 3 = 30.00

4

40.00

10.00 x 4 = 40.00

5

40.00

Day 5 to 7 the Price will remain as 40, since Weekly Price should not exceed 40.00

6

40.00

7

40.00

8

50.00

40.00 + 10.00 = 50.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 1st day in 2nd week)

9

60.00

40.00 + 20.00 = 60.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 2nd day in 2nd week)

10

70.00

40.00 + 30.00 = 70.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 3rd day in 2nd week)

11

80.00

40.00 +  40.00 = 80.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 4th day in 2nd week)

12

80.00

Day 12 to 14 the Price will remain as 80, since Price for 2 weeks should not exceed 80.

That is, (Week price x Number of weeks),

= 40.00 x 2 =  80.00

13

80.00

14

80.00

15

90.00

40.00 + 40.00 + 10.00 = 90.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 2nd week  + Price for 1st day of 3rd week).

16

100.00

80.00 + 20.00 = 100.00 (Price for 1st week  + Price for 2nd week  + Price for 2nd day of 3rd week).

17

Day 17 to 28 the Price will remain as 100.00, since the Monthly Price should not exceed 100.00.

100.00 + 10.00 = 110.00 (Price for 1 month + Price for 1 Day).

From the 29th Day the Pricing will be calculated same as from the start of the month.

Additional Points:

If we define the Unit price as 10.00, DIW = 4 and DIM =10.00:

  • The amount will be same but Invoice Date will be 1 to 10 continuously. For the 1st month and the 2nd month invoice will not be generated.

  • In Weekly billing cycle, it will generate for 4 weeks + remaining days it will ignore DIM because of that the amount will be more.

Pricing and Billing when Line Level Unit is Defined

In an Order, when Line Level Unit and Item price is defined, the functionality will be as below:

  • System will always consider the DIW and DIM definitions for calculation of Price.

  • If DIW and / or DIM is blank then system will consider the default values.

Default Values are:

  • DIW = 7

  • DIM = 28

  • The Price of the Unit defined for the line will always be considered.

If Price is blank for a particular Unit then the Price for that Unit will be calculated based on DIW and DIM definitions.

  • If Unit is Week and Week Price is blank then system will arrive at the Weekly Price using the formula:

Day Price x DIW = Weekly Price

  • If Unit is Month and Month Price is blank, then the system will arrive at the Monthly Price using the formula:

Day Price x DIM = Monthly Price

  • When only Monthly Price is defined and Unit is either Day or Week, then Day Price and Month Price is arrived using the formula given  below:

Month Price / DIM = Day  Price

Day Price * DIW = Week Price

Here system will first arrive at the Day Price and then arrive at the Week Price.

  • When a particular line in the Order should not be charged then the following should be followed:

  • Day Price, Week Price and Month Price should be 0.00.

Or

  • Day Price should be 0.00, Week Price and Month Price should be blank when Unit is either Week or Month.

Scenario 1:

In an Order, when Line Level Unit is set Day and Item price is defined, the functionality will be as below:

  • System will consider the DIW and DIM which is applicable for the line.

The illustration below explains how Order line amount is calculated for each Day.

Illustration 1:

  1. Define Pricing for Item [ITEM#1] as below:

  2. Day Price = 40.00

  3. Week Price = 60.00

  4. Month Price = 100.00

  1. Add the Item [ITEM#1] to the Order [ORDER#1].

  2. Set the Unit as Day.

  3. 4. Set DIW as 3 and DIM as 9.

In an Order, when Line Level Unit is set as Day, Pricing is defined and DIW is defined but DIM is blank, then the functionality will be as below:

  • System will consider the DIW which is applicable for the line as DIM is blank and only 3 days in a Week will be charged.

  • As Unit is Day, Day Price will be considered for calculations of the Price for the other days.

  • As DIM is not defined, system will calculate Price for 3 days in a week for the entire Month.

The illustration below explains how Order line amount is calculated for each Day.

Illustration 5:

  1. Define Pricing for Item [ITEM#1] as below:

  2. Day Price = 40.00

  4. Month Price = 100.00

  1. Add the Item [ITEM#1] to the Order [ORDER#1].
