Custom Reports Module
Custom reports are used to design and generate reports from a wide range of data sources. You can arrange the data on the report in a highly configurable fashion. Once the report layout is complete it can be saved for general use or even deployment as a file.
Custom Reports can be broadly classified into three main categories, namely:
Custom Report Configuration
A custom report has to be set up with the required view, report definitions, columns and rows required for a particular report and the look up values, this can be done in R2 through the Configuration Module à Configure Reports. This is an administrative function which grants various report view and field control to the end-user.
Custom Report Wizard
Once the configuration portion is complete, the report can be generated and viewed through the Reports module Report Wizard, wherein the user can further decide on the fields the report would be compromised of, the filters and how the report would be viewed including the design of the Report. This is a super-user function which allows the end-user to take the available report views and fields (from the Configuration area) and turn them into one or more reports.
In Custom Reports you can design your report with attention to greater details like the font, the cell and row width, the placement of data and the color. The Design and Preview helps you improve the presentation quality of the report.
Generating Custom Reports
Accessible thru the Reports module à Custom Reports this area allows the end-user to execute any of the reports created via the Custom Report Wizard. This is an end user function which does not allow for report design-level functions.
