Kit Assets or Serial Kits

For serial kits, the user has to create individual assets for the kit (similar to the assets to an item) in order to use it in order transactions.

If assets are not created, then status for the kit will be displayed as 'Not Available' in order transactions.

To create assets for Serial Kits

The below steps can be performed only if any items are added/attached to a kit.

  1. From the Kit Edit Window, Click on Assets to display the Serial Kits Dialog.

  2. Click on Create to display Serial Kits Edit dialog.

For the serial items added to the kit, multiple lines will be displayed based on the quantity defined, where as there will be only one line present for the Non-serial items irrespective of the quantity entered. 

  1. Click on ScanId button to display  Scan Serial ID dialog to enter the asset Id for the serial items selected.

  2. In Scan Serial ID dialog, Enter the Asset ID based on the number of lines present for the item selected.

On entering an asset id for the serial items to a kit asset, the respective will be locked to the kit, which means the user will not be able to used the entered asset individually. 

  1. Click on Close button, on finishing entering the Asset IDs

  2. Click on OK,  to save the newly created kit asset and return back to Serial Kits Dialog wherein the newly created kit will be displayed.

Serial Kit Dialog Field Information

Field Name

Description

Kit ID

Displays the ID of the Kit for which the assets are being created.

Description

Displays the Description of the Kit for which the assets are being created.

Quantity

Displays the total quantity of kit assets present.

Create

Clicking on the Create button will initiate the creation of kit assets. If all the items present in the kit are non-serial, then system will display the quantity dialog, wherein the user can enter the number of assets to be created in one instance.

Edit

Click on Edit button to modify the header level information for the kit asset. (Serial ID, Revenue Acc #, Bin, Shelf, Damaged, Available)

Break

On highlighting a kit asset, following clicking on the Break button de-links/ deletes the kit asset selected and assets which are attached to the kit asset will be unlocked and will be available for using individually.

View Items

Click on the View Items button by highlighting an kit asset to view the items and assets which are present.

Mark In

Click on Mark In button to update a selected kit asset status as 'In'.

Assemble and Disassemble Multiple Kit Assets

The Assemble and Disassemble feature allows you to create / assemble and Disassemble multiple kit assets in one instance.

On breaking the kit assets the status and availability of the assets will also be updated. Child assets of the broken kit will no longer be locked to the package or kit.

To Assemble multiple kit assets in one instance

The multiple kit asset assemble  feature will be available if and only if all the  items added to the kit are Non-Serial.

  1. Navigate to Kits Edit Window of Maintenance Module.

  2. Add Non-Serial Item(s) to the Kit

  3. Click on the ’r;Assets’ button to open the Serial Kits Window.

  4. Click on Create button to display the dialog box wherein you can enter the number of kit assets to be created.

  5. Enter the Quantity, Click OK to create the kit assets based on the availability of the child item added.

  6. If item is not available against the quantity required, system displays the following prompt with short quantity information for child Item(s) added.

  7. The user can continue creating kit assets by selecting the option "Yes” or ”No” to cancel the operation.

  8. Click Close to exit from the Serial kits Window and display Kit Edit Window.

  9. Click OK to save and close kit definition.

To Disassemble multiple kit assets in one instance

  1. Navigate to Kits Edit Window of Maintenance Module.

  2. Click on the ’Assets’ button to open the Serial/Non-Serial Kit Window.

  3. Select all Kit Assets using the keys Ctrl+A.

  4. Click on the ’Break’ button to break multiple assets of a kit
