Positive Conflict
When items are returned earlier than the specified return date on the order, if the same item is added on the order is sub rented, it causes positive conflicts.
Considerations
Item TV has stock 1
Conflict is generated on: 7th of May 2005 Steps to be followed
Add the item TV to the Order#1 from 5th May 2005, to 11th May 2005, fill and ship. The status of the item will be OUT on the order
Create Order#2 from 7th May 2005 to 13th May 2005 for item TV. Status of the item will be NOT AVAILABLE on the Order#2, as it is out on Order#1. This not available item is sub rented, or transfer, or purchase assigned
On 6th May, return the item TV on Order#1
Open Order#2, status of the item can be still found with assigned status
Though the item TV is returned to the inventory and is available, it is still displayed with respective assigned status on Order #2.
To notify the user about the availability of the item, R2 will generate Positive Conflict. On generating positive conflict a task will be generated on the conflict generated date for the sales person. The sub rent and purchase made on the affected order will be listed as task in the My Activity module so that it can be resolved.
While generating conflicts for items lines, start date of the item line will be considered. Future Fifteen days with respect to current system date will be considered from the day of conflict generation when unnecessary Sub Rentals, Transfers, Purchases found (Positive conflicts).
Negative Conflict
When items are not returned on the specified return date on the order, if the same item is added on the order or transfer order on which it is reserved, it causes negative conflicts.
Negative Conflict in Rental Orders:
Considerations
Item TV has stock of 1
Conflict generated on: 1st of May 2005 Steps to be followed
Add the item on to the Order#1 from 17th April 2005, to 28th April 2005, fill and ship. The status of the item will be OUT on the order.
Create another Order#2 from 1st May 2005 to 13th May 2005 for the same item TV. Status of the asset will be RESERVED on the order, as the asset is expected to return back on 28th April 2005
On 30th April 2005, consider the item TV is still not returned
As the item TV on Order#1 is due return and if it is not returned on specified date this can result in shortage for the future orders.
Negative Conflict in Transfer Orders
Consider a Transfer Order with Return Transfer Order is created from Site A to Site B from April 27, 2006 to May 7, 2006. Dates on return transfer order are May 8, 2006.
Items are shipped from Site A to Site B. In Site B, items are shipped on an order.
If the items are not returned on the order i.e., the status is still OUT and causing items due for shipping on return transfer order with availability shortage, on generating conflicts, the respective item on Return Transfer Order will be listed as Negative conflict. The Id of the rental order causing the conflict will be shown under Order ID column in Conflicts window
If the items, which are supposed to be shipped on Return Transfer Order, are marked as Damaged, Missing, Lost or Returned (If the items are returned earlier to transfer order ship date and reserved on some other order before ship date on transfer order then also Order Id column will be blank) will result in Negative conflicts. But, for these Negative conflicts, Order ID column will be blank
If the items are not returned on due return, then R2 will change the status to Overdue in the order. But R2 will not change any status in transfer order.
For negative conflict, R2 will consider orders and transfer order for future Seven days from the day of conflict generation.
